Very fine registered entire from Queenstown to Trieste, the 7d (3d per oz plus 4d registration) rate prepaid by a 6d Mauve Pl. 9 tied by a Queenstown '157' duplex for AU. 26. 1871 and a roughly torn in 1d rose red Pl. 120 cancelled by just the numeral portion of the duplex. Despite the obvious postal fraud the mutilated stamp was accepted without additional surcharge. 'Triest' boxed registration handstamp on reverse.
